About Ruthann
Ruthann brings 25 years of diverse journalism and public relations experience to her clients, whether it’s to write a bylined column, create marketing copy for a brochure, oversee the development of a print or online newsletter, or develop web content. Ruthann started her career writing for newspapers in Texas, working for two bi-weekly publications before joining The Houston Chronicle to write a community section for the paper.
In 1986 she moved to Boston where she began a career in public relations, working for Liberty Mutual Insurance Corp., the American Automobile Association, and the Big Dig, before becoming a consultant in 1996. For the past 12 years, Ruthann has provided public relations services to a wide range of companies while writing for several local and regional publications. Some of her PR clients have included the Massachusetts Alliance for Small Contractors, DMJM Harris, and Commonwealth Creative Associates. Her byline has appeared in The Boston Globe, The Patriot Ledger, The Boston Parents’ Paper, and The MetroWest Daily News.
Having worked at the Big Dig and for other Architecture/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) organizations/firms, Ruthann has gained a valuable knowledge base and understanding of the industry and has worked on a number of writing projects detailing the scope and processes in building public or private infrastructure. Ruthann also has broad experience in the areas of health care and wellness, and has written several articles under her byline as well as on behalf of clients.
